Vascular
Surgery
Vascular surgery refers to surgery of
the arteries and veins. Common blood vessel operations include repair of
ballooned-out arteries (aneurysms) of the abdomen and legs; bypass
operations to correct blocked arteries in the abdomen, pelvis, and the
legs; operations to clean out narrowed neck arteries to prevent strokes;
and removal of varicose veins. Recently the field of minimally
invasive endovascular surgery has revolutionized vascular surgery.
Blocked and ballooned-out arteries can now be repaired with
catheters and wires similar to a cardiac catheterization. We also
offer ultrasound "removal" of unsightly and painful varicose veins using
minimally invasive techniques in the office.
